It took me years to figure out the painting in the background.

In 1958 we took a short trip into the mountains
to Mt. Palomar Observatory with my mothers parents.
I saw Science in action, almost.
For the summers of 1960-1 we drove to Wisconsin
where my father went to a graduate Seminary...
It was great for a kid,
but what are those other people doing?
In 1970 I escaped to Santa Cruz for college.
